Flash Bang Wallop!...

The aquisition of a brand new Nikon SB 900 flashgun was the perfect excuse to ask my daughter to accompany me on a walk along the beach at Redcar to test out my new "toy". Over the years she has learnt to humour me at such times and willingly agreed to model for me whilst I experimented with different settings.
I was very impressed with the results and the SB 900 was immediately installed into my camera bag as an essential part of my equipment.
I think the results speak for themselves and will be using it on a regular basis for all my wedding and portrait sessions in future!

Pre wedding shoot at Margrove Park, Guisborough

Helen works within the fabulous surroundings of Margrove Park
so the venue for the engagement shoot was with thanks to her boss!
The timing for the shoot was organised around Jays Army leave and coincided with glorious sunshine all weekend.
We met up one Sunday teatime and had a very relaxed and informal shoot with lots of fun and laughter interspersed with bouts of play-fighting!
The wedding seems set to be a fun filled event for everyone!

Iceni on stage and on fire....

Its one of the perks of the job that I am sometimes able to mix business with pleasure, and it was one of those such occasions when I recently went to Newcastle to do some promotional photographs for the band Iceni.
They are a female trio with an original mix of upbeat music that would grace the charts with just a slice of luck and some radio airplay. I suspect that you have never heard of them....I predict one day you will!

Reportage style wedding photography at Shotton Hall, County Durham

The weather forecast wasn't looking very good for Joe and Lynsey with heavy rain forecast all day but fortunately the weathermen had got it partly wrong and Shotton Hall was bathed in glorious sunshine by the time the speeches were over. The speeches which produced some memorable pictures were poignant and yet also very funny!
Joe, Lyndsey and their many guests were up for a party and they were duly rewarded when Central Park took to the stage and played well into the night. Shotton Hall was witness to a wonderful day and everyone had a fabulous time toasting the new Mr and Mrs Martin and wishing them all the very best for their future together.
This is a small selection of some of my favourite pictures from the day. Guests can of course purchase prints if they so wish.
